The Smart City Lab Basel connects partners from business, science, administration and the interested public. This community experiments and develops new ideas and projects for a smart Switzerland of tomorrow. The Lab is a joint initiative of SBB and the Canton of Basel-Stadt.

About us

The Smart City Lab Basel promotes innovations in the areas of buildings, mobility, city logistics and beyond for a liveable, sustainable and competitive Switzerland of tomorrow.

It offers space and formats to connect actors, develop approaches, test ideas and experience smart solutions.

The lab is a joint initiative by SBB and the Canton of Basel-Stadt. It is located on the Wolf site close to Basel SBB station. Approximately 160,000 m2 are currently available for use.
